News from the State House
Late January began with the Governor declaring a State of Emergency for the Gas Outage on Aquidneck Island. Fortunately most of Middletown was spared and those who were shut off were turned back on relatively quickly. The long week long outage in Newport called on many agencies and organizations from the pubic and private sectors to work together to mitigate the damage and minimize the duration of the outage.
